人與人自古以來無論是以比手畫腳、嘟噥嗚呀的傳遞想法，抑或現代人以視訊、小影、限動等方式各抒己見。
🌟在溝通傳遞的方式上，從古自今有許多不同的進展，從最早以「祖語」去傳遞，或是通過驛站、飛鴿傳書、烽火報警、符號、眼神、觸碰等方式進行資訊傳遞。
自口語時代演變到文字書寫時代，再到印刷時代、電信時代乃至現今的網路傳播時代。均是在進行人與人之間的想法交換。
🌟現代人因為溝通與資訊量爆炸，因此在傳遞溝通與想法交流上是非常迅速的，也導致許多無效的溝通出現。甚至出現許多新名詞、錯誤用法的狀況發生。
溝通一詞，在教育部重編國語辭典修訂本中的定義：
1️⃣開鑿溝渠使二水相通。《左傳．哀公九年》：「秋，吳城邗，溝通江、淮。」
2️⃣使彼此融會或通連。如：「文化溝通」、「情感溝通」。《清史稿．卷四八六．文苑列傳三．林紓列傳》：「世謂紓以中文溝通西文，復以西文溝通中文，並稱『林嚴』。」
韋氏字典中，溝通的定義是：
1️⃣Ａ：a process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or behavior
👉the function of pheromones in insect communication
also : exchange of information
Ｂ：personal rapport
👉a lack of communication between old and young persons
2️⃣Ａ：information communicated : information transmitted or conveyed
Ｂ：a verbal or written message
👉The captain received an important communication.
3️⃣communications plural
Ａ：a system (as of telephones or computers) for transmitting or exchanging information
👉wireless electronic communications
Ｂ：a system of routes for moving troops, supplies, and vehicles
Ｃ：personnel engaged in communicating : personnel engaged in transmitting or exchanging information
4️⃣communications plural in form but singular or plural in construction
Ａ：a technique for expressing ideas effectively (as in speech)
Ｂ：the technology of the transmission of information (as by print or telecommunication)
5️⃣an act or instance of transmitting
👉the communication of disease
6️⃣anatomy : a connection between bodily parts
